It's Official...We're Moving!!

Our orders have FINALLLY arrived and we'll be setting sail on a new adventure to Guam!

'Where the heck is Guam' you might ask, we'll it's over in the south pacific close to the Philipines. Guam is about a 6 hour flight west of Hawaii, approx. 4 hours to Japan and a hop, skip & jump to other places like Thailand, Australia, New Zealand. Let's just say it's far far away from Sweet Home Alabama! We've known for some time that Guam was a possibilty which is how I've been able to let it sink in. We will be stationed there for 2 years and we are so lucky because Aaron already has family stationed in Guam. They have 2 years left with orders as well. I definetely have felt more at ease knowing there will already be familiar faces on the island (which is about 26 miles long!!!!). Through my research it seems Guam offers alot of outdoor activities. It is a hot spot for some beautiful diving, hiking, and waterfalls! It's a mixed culture with several influences like Filipino, Spanish, Micronesian. One thing I keep coming across is how good (& fattening) the food is! Which means I'll be hitting the gym frequently since I plan on living in a swimsuit year round, if it's as hot & humid as I think. I'm nervous & excited about this entirely new world we are about to step into! Then again...when am I ever going to get an opportunity like this?! Aaron & I are both under the impression it's what you make of the experience. We are planning to take as much advantage as we can!

All I could do was laugh

Earlier this week I washed my car. I kept telling myself how badly it needed my attention on the outside & in. The pollen was awful around here a few weeks ago, so I had to hold off. I didn't want all my hard work to go to waste with an annoying thin layer of yellow powder. Man, I worked hard on the car. It was hot outside, I inevitably soaked myself (those pressure washers can be alot to handle!ha!), but I had determination. I envisioned my husband coming home & admiring the glistening sparkling in the sunshine clean. It was beautiful. That entire day whenever I stepped outside I kept peaking over at my car. I was proud of myself & just relished in the cleanliness. Later that evening I had to make a quick errand. I was excited to ride in the car that I worked hard on. Wouldn't you know all that would come to end so soon? On my way home, a big fat bug SPLATTED right on the windshield!!! The bug was big & his guts were all over the glass! The only thing I could do....was laugh. Isn't that how it goes sometimes? As soon as you mop, a nasty red spill, right after vaccuuming dogs trail in dirt. Even though my moment was short lived & a bug named "Reality" hit my windshield I just had to laugh. There's nothing I could do about it & that's ok. That's life. It happens to us all. What's your moment when all you could do was laugh?
