Spanish Steps

On Monday since we both had the day off, we decided to do a little exploring.  We went hiking down Spanish Steps.  It's an old area built by the ancient Spanish who settled here. There’s a hike down a steep cliff  along the Spanish steps to a secluded beach. You had to use ropes at a few spots to help guide yourself down. We were hiking through the jungle among all the palm trees, steep cliffs, and sometimes rocky terrain. It's not a very long hike, which was nice, but fun nonetheless!!
The Spanish constructed a drinking water well at sea level and hiked up and down the steps to retrieve water. At the bottom there's a small rocky beach where we got some snorkeling in and saw all the pretty fish and coral. It was alot of fun spending a few hours getting outside and enjoying the beauty of Guam.  It was definitely one of those days that I couldn't believe, I live here!

16 Weeks Along

It's actually different being able to see a picture of myself beginning to show.  I feel like my belly sticks out alot further than this picture seems to tell.  On the same token its exciting for me to see a little bump! My pregnancy so far has been good. I have only gotten sick twice -both times were kinda my own fault- other than that I have been nauseous in the morning and extremely tired. Good news is since we're in the 2nd
tri-mester it's mostly all subsided!! I can get worn out easily, but it's so nice to be feeling more energetic.  Aaron has been very helpful. He hasn't complained about my cooking & cleaning skills lacking a bit, has pitched in alot, and been a really good hubby! I love him : )

Baby Makes Three!

We're expecting our first little one August 9th!!  Aaron & I could not be more excited about the news!! We are going to have ourselves a little Guammie Baby! There's so much to prepare and we are VERY VERY thankful to have loving family & friends (both near & far) surrounding us.  We know here on Guam we have such a great family to support us during this exciting time!! We also know everyone stateside is there as well.

I've had 2 appointments so far and things are progressing well.  Aaron couldn't be there for the first appointment, but we were able to make up for it (pays to have a doctor in the family). His cousin who works at the hospital took us up when Aaron returned home. It was AMAZING to hear the heartbeat and see the little squirt moving around on the ultrasound screen. It was surreal to see the movements, but not able to feel it inside. Having a child really is a miracle (I understand a little better now what that really means).

Aaron's convinced it's a girl, I'm thinking a boy...we'll see who's right next month.

Any guesses from you folks?
